DMM IAC Workshop | AIAA SciTech Forum 2025
We are excited to invite you to the next installation of the Digital Materiel Management Industry Association Consortium Workshop on January 8th, 2025 1800-2100.
An enduring collaboration
In partnership with SERC/AIRC and NDIA-ETI, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, broader DoD, and defense industry have launched a formalized Industry Association Consortium (IAC). These stakeholders have shared roles in the development and sustainment of major defense systems. The engineering and program management artifacts that define these roles have been individually transitioning to digital forms for 30+ years, while the business practices and contract boundaries have remained mostly unchanged.
The value of digital transformation over the system life cycle is gained from seamless and efficient connectivity of data and models, full lifecycle management and access to these data and models (authoritative sources of truth), and an overarching imperative to radically accelerate our fielding, sustainment, and modernization of warfighter capabilities.
Focus Areas
Schemas, ontologies and style guides to enable DMM
Policy and enforcement for DMM
Integration of acquisition functions
Workforce development and training for DMM
Integrated digital environments to support DMM
What’s New
Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept, it’s a present necessity. It will define how we fight, how we support the fight, and how we sustain our fighting edge. Just like airpower changed the battlefield, AI will change the decision space. If we don’t move fast, we fall behind.
Building on the momentum of the Dayton Digital Transformation Summit, this workshop brings together DMM and industry partners to shape a unified vision for AI and define near-term actions to achieve it. Each table will represent a critical mission area: sustainment, test, acquisition, cyber, data management, S&T, and return on investment. Together, we’ll define where AI needs to take us and what it’s going to take to get there.
When: Thursday 8 May, Track 1: 10:00 – Noon EST
Location: Sinclair Conference Center, Dayton, Ohio
The workshop is twofold:
First, craft a clear vision for how AI enables your mission area. Then, work backward—identify the gaps, the risks, and the actions we need to take now to make that vision real within the next three years.
This workshop supports the DMM mission to deliver war-winning capabilities. That means delivering trusted, mission-ready AI capabilities on time, on cost, and in step with our operational demands. Let’s get after it together. Our strategic advantage depends on how quickly and effectively DoD and industry team together to adopt and integrate AI.
